The Woolly mammoth is a popular candidate that we might see again. Even if there hasn’t been a living mammoth for about 200,000 years ago, there is a strong possibility of bringing them back again simply because they died during the ice age in an area that is still quite frozen to this day. This means that their DNA is still well preserved.

In 2006, scientists found that injecting four simple proteins into an adult cell will restore it into an embryonic stem cell. This operation is simpler and quicker than extracting nuclei. A stem cell is better than nuclei since it will live longer. So as a starting point scientists will create genital cells based on sperm. And they will inject it to a female elephant. And with that anything is possible. We hope for the best.
