A noble and powerful dog that is known for his skills and massive corpulence, Rottweiler has the highest rate of cancer more than any other dog breed. One in ten dogs of this breed may develop osteosarcoma, a bone tumor that largely reaches big dogs and accounts for about 80% of bone tumors. This disease is a malignant tumor that usually occurs in the bone or on the ends of long bones, leading to cancer.

The osteosarcoma manifests by severe pain. The dog will begin to limp gradually until they cannot put their paw on the ground. A swelling will eventually form on the lame part.

A fracture will result from the progression of the osteosarcoma since the latter tends to weaken the internal bone by gnawing it. In most cases, it is after radiography of this fracture that one observes the existence of a bone tumor.
