#2.1 – Morphology and Locomotion Disorders:

The most visible complications due to cat obesity are logically those that affect its morphology. Overweight causes musculoskeletal disorders and altered tendons: your cat begins to limp.

They also become intolerant to heat and effort and can suffer from hypertension and respiratory problems like dyspnea (shortness of breath). Female kitties may experience difficulties in giving birth; this is called dystocia.

Moreover, an obese cat tends to clean itself less and is more likely to develop lumbar dermatomes. By moving with difficulty towards their litter, and thus urinating less often, they become subject to urinary infections, especially because they find it hard to clean their genital area.
