#2 – Force Your Dog to Interact with
Humans or other Pets
Just like humans, dogs can have social relationships and therefore appreciate some of their fluffy fellows. If you force your pup to get along with dogs with which they don’t want to play, you could put your relationship with your pet at risk.
Your pooch needs to feel that you put them in comfortable situations because they basically trust that you will never do something that can harm or make them feel insecure. Otherwise, you will lose that trust. Moreover, you should be aware of your dog’s body language when meeting new potential buddies.
Although many of you love to take a dog in your arms and doggie cuddles, you should know that dogs just don’t understand this “cuddle system” the way humans do. For us, these are simple sentimental demonstrations, whereas, for dogs, this can be an attempt at domination. In the canine world, a dog placing their paw on another is a sign of submission, which is why some pups may not bear being handled.
