The African Rock Python is the biggest non-venomous snake in Africa. It mostly inhabits tropical forests of central and western Africa, and it may extend to 7.5m as a maximum length, and weigh up to 114kg. The huge, heavy body of this python provides a good camouflage due to its dark blotches and marks.

Unlike The Burmese Python, is it not recommended to keep the African Rock Python as a pet since it is a very aggressive creature especially if it gets provoked. The most typical way that African Rock Python uses to kill the prey is to coil around it and then destroy it by contraction. They mainly eat large monkeys, rodents, pigs, and antelopes; it can live up to one year after eating a big meal such as a gazelle or a crocodile.
